About Us

Morgan Weatherly, PhD, LPC

I’ve always been an “old soul” and felt drawn to finding deeper meaning in a chaotic world. I’m deeply interested in others’ stories and understanding how we grow, heal, and thrive — so I suppose it wasn’t a big surprise that I found my way to the field of counseling. I’ve often found myself in awe at how the human spirit can weather even the greatest of storms.

I primarily work with individuals and couples who are experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, loss, and relationship issues, as well as career and professional issues. Additionally, I provide performance consulting for athletes and executives. I received my Master’s degree from Richmont Graduate University in 2009 and went on to complete my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Auburn University. I am currently pursuing certification as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant.

I practice from an eclectic orientation integrating psychodynamic, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT!), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Gottman method and Emotion Focused Therapy depending on the client’s needs. I am trauma informed in my approach to treatment. It is important to note that I have specialized training in Exposure and Response Prevention as well as the Gottman Method. I was a professor in graduate counseling programs for over 10 years which has enabled me to develop expertise in several areas across the curriculum for counselors. I also draw from years of management experience in corporate and family businesses.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my family or pursuing my love of beautiful things through travel, flower arranging, or hiking. I am also an avid but marginal tennis player.
